JEE Main 2025: New Exam Pattern and Topic-wise Weightage

 JEE Main 2025 Revised Exam Pattern: The JEE Main exam 2025 will be conducted in a different pattern for paper 1, paper 2A and paper 2B as per the NTA’s latest notification. According to the revised pattern section B will contain only 5 questions and there will be no choice. Students are required to attempt all 75 questions from the question paper. Previously section B contained 10 questions, of which students must solve 5. JEE Main Session 1 will be held between 22 to 31 January 2025, for admission to B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Planning courses.

JEE Main 2025: Highlights

JEE Main 2025 will be held in two sessions for admission to B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch., or B.Planning. Session 1 will be held from January 22 to 31st and session 2 will be held in April 2025. Application for Session 1 has started from 28th October 2024 and will last till 22 November 2024.  Students must visit the official website of JEE to complete their application before the last date. JEE Main 2025 Revised Exam Pattern

As per the latest notification issued by NTA, no choice will be provided for the candidates of JEE in section B of Paper 1, Paper 2A, and Paper 2B. All questions are compulsory as well the negative marking is there for both sections. The details of the revised exam pattern are given below:

Note: Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and

Section B will contain numerical value-based questions. There will be negative markings for incorrect answers in both sections. For each question in Section B, a candidate has to enter the correct integer value of the answer using the mouse and the on-screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. For Section B, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.

JEE Main 2025 Marking Scheme

Students are required to attempt 75 questions in all subjects. Each question carries 4 marks, therefore, the total marks for the question paper are 300. The marking scheme for section A (Multiple Choice Questions) and section B (Numerical Value Bases) for each paper is given below:
